REAL ESTATE SEARCH: This function allows you to search for a property by Address, Parcel Number, Doing Business As, Legal Description, as well as Section, Township, Range, Lot, and Block.
SALE SEARCH: This function allows you to perform searches on sales for specific types of property. There are 3 tabs at the top that you can search by classification - Residential, Commercial, and Agricultural Land. Each one of these tabs may have slightly different options to search by based on the type of classification.
BUILDING SEARCH: This function allows you to perform searches on non-sale properties for comparison purposes. You can also use the tabs at the top to search by classification and building type - Residential, Commercial, Yard Extra (Yard Buildings), Ag Buildings.
LINKS: This tab has our direct links back to the Steele County website and also the link to the parcel tax information where you can obtain payable tax amounts, special assessment, view and print tax statements, etc.
SALES REPORTS: This function lists all the sale reports available by classification and/or type of
property. Not only are there sales reports, but we also include assessment reports and other useful documents.
We update the current sales reports every month. The previous year reports are year-end reports.
Currently we are unable to put a full city of Owatonna Residential sale report out here due to the size limit. If you are searching
for Owatonna sales, I would suggest to use the sale search option. You can limit your search and print a report from that listing.

To print any document or listing from our website, right-click on your page and select print or print preview.
What you see on the screen is what will be printed.
ABOUT PROPERTY DATA PAGE:
Below is the basic information that is given for each parcel.
Lot-Block is the only field that isn't being populated. Deeded Acres may be blank especially if it is a residential property. To look for lot size and dimensions, it would be best to use the GIS Map at the bottom of this website or go to http://www.co.steele.mn.us/link/jsfe/index.aspx.

Building Definitions
AREA - ground floor square footage only
TLA (Total Living Area) - above ground square footage
BSMT - Descriptions will be labeled as follows:
Full, 3/4, 1/2, 1/4, None, Slab, Crawl, Perimeter Only, Pier Only
"BSMT" area is in relation to the "AREA" square footage. For example, if you have a two story property,
the AREA indicates 1000 SF, the TLA indicates 2000 SF, and the BSMT area indicates full, the BSMT area
square footage is 1000 SF. You can verify these measurements by reviewing the sketch and the property.
ATTIC - These homes are typically refereed to 1 1/4 story homes. Descriptions will be labeled as follows:
Fully Finished, 1/4 Finished, 1/2 Finished, 3/4 Finished, 1/4 Loft, 1/2 Loft, 3/4 Loft, Full Loft, Observed
"ATTIC" area again is in relation to the "AREA" square footage. The attic size will depend on the size of the finished
area based on a percentage. That attic square footage is not an exact square footage measurement.
Observed may be a specific square footage that has been applied to an attic area.
PLUMBING - Counting the number of plumbing items per style. Below lists all of the available plumbing items along with a description.
